If you are a developer and want to develop your KickStarter game or application for the GCW Zero, please before you make it as a stretch goal - contact us, so we can let you know if it is even feasible for you to port your game or application.
If it is feasible at that point we will make an update post on our KickStarter page that your game will be ported to the GCW Zero if it meets the stretch goal.

Hi,
i am glad to announce the IndieGO! gaming system the first time outside of my home community (commodore Amiga / AROS), exclusive on my favorite console news site since the glory dreamcast days : )
As the title says: We are working on a open gaming system called IndieGO!
www.indiego-gaming.com
You have now the chance to win one of the first beta consoles.
You will need to register at www.ares-shop.de and give us a like on our facebook page.
We plan to start the public beta in april 2013.
The Hardware is not yet set in stone but it will be enough to emulate, virtualize and to run current and NexGen PC-Games for Linux and Windows(through Wine).
Some but not all infos (since it is still WIP) can be found on out website.
In the moment we are finalizing the last bits like packaging (design) and building a distributor network.
What is special about it?
Well we are gamers like you! We now what you wan't and we don't rely on your money.. we don't melk you and we don't limit you.
The system allows to install Homebrew, you are free to buy from STEAM, Desura or our own store.
You can install games from SD-card, CD/DVD.
The OS is based on Aeros r4 (www.aeros-os.org) and it allows to run classic Amiga (CD32) games with a legal Kickstart replacement. It also allows to run classic DOS Games (with autodetection of games when CD/DVD's are inserted). And many more. It will also come with a Scene demo channel where you can enjoy the latest realtime scene demos for virtually any system you can think of.
BTW. regarding homebrew. We like the wiibrew.org page and would like to have something like this... if you think you can start something like this, feel free to contact us.
Everything we offer is legal. No rom dumps or any protected 3rd party library will be used. At least by us.

You may have already seen some scenes from Unnamed Monkey Game in the
GCW Zero presentation video. Now its official: Not only will Unnamed
Monkey Game be one of the first commercial titles available for the
GCW Zero, the GCW will actually come bundled with a playable demo. And
more yet, the GCW version will have exclusive content! One whole
world, available only to buyers of the GCW Zero!
So what is Unnamed Monkey Game? Its a platformer, with charming
4-shades-of-green graphics, proper chiptune music that will have you
humming for days, attention to detail and tight fine-tuned controls.
It is still under development, with the full version hopefully to be
released later this year, most likely following its own KickStarter
campaign.
You can find more information on UMG at http://www.unnamedmonkeygame.com/

The GCW Toolkit will soon be accompanied by a virtual device emulator with the help of QEMU (http://wiki.qemu.org/). This feature has been requested before to allow for testing OpenDingux programs and games in an emulated MIPS environment. A preview can be seen at bottom of this update.
The plan is to bring support for audio and cpu emulation (no GPU acceleration is planned for now within the QEMU environment).
We would also like to announce two new games from PawByte will be available for the GCW Zero:
* Fields of Fresh (June 2013)
* PawByte Mafia (Chibifia) (July 2013)
Demos of both games should be available around March 2013. More information at PawByte website: http://www.pawbyte.com

GCW-Zero the Open Source Gaming Handheld project on Kickstarter has now reached 200,000 Dollars with over a day left at this time, awesome news for the team and for us the Homebrew Community:
heres their latest post:
Thanks for your amazing support so far! With just under 48 hours remaining in our Kickstarter, we have a few exciting announcements for our backers! As you may already be aware, every Zero that ships will come pre-loaded with a selection of open-source and indie games hand picked by our team, and with the blessing of their authors. It's important to us that the Zero is fun right out of the box, and so today we're ready to officially add an exciting new name to the list of games that will come pre-installed on your new Zero.

Powder 117 using Akoi Meexx tileset (CC3.0-BY)
Some of you may have played POWDER, the excellent open-source rogue-like on other platforms. Originally created as a part of the GameBoy Advance home-brew scene, POWDER is the refined product of ten years of development, and its popularity has encouraged it to be ported to a wide variety of operating systems and devices. If you haven't played POWDER, it's a terrific hardcore roguelike in the tradition of games like Nethack, Crawl, Diablo (I & II), Moria, and Angband. It is a deep tactical experience, and it features a randomized dungeon each time you play. For a great description of POWDER, check out the developer's website at http://www.zincland.com/powder/
We have POWDER running on the Zero, and we are proud to have the developer's blessing to deliver it as a pre-installed game on the Zero. We think you'll love it.
POWDER joins Sqrxz3, Dink Smallwood, Puzzletube, SameGoo, Worship Vector, Spout, Astrolander, Blockrage, Biniax2, and Heroes on our current list of pre-loaded titles. Many other games will also be available at launch as easy-to-install downloads.
We also want to announce the first episode of our new video series, GCW Spotlight on Games. This is the first episode in what we hope will be an ongoing series of short videos, each shining the spotlight on an open source or indie game running on the Zero. In this first episode, we spotlight eduke32, the fantastic port of the Duke Nukem 3D engine. It features analog control, online multiplayer, and great performance on the Zero. It even supports mods! We hope you enjoy it. Hail to the King, Baby!

News via http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...handheld/posts
I wanted to take this moment to THANK YOU ALL for supporting this great console!
Thank you from me and the whole GCW team. Your support means a lot to
us, as you took our dream and made it possible.
A question has been asked whether it is still possible to make a
pledge now that we have met the goal. And the answer is YES - you can.
The more pledges we get the more you are helping us.
For those of you that haven't heard of it yet - we have introduced
stretch goals, which means more goodies for everyone who pledge at or
above $135 if the stretch goal is reached.
Let's make $200K stretch goal a reality and launch this console with
all sorts of extras for everyone.
Once again a giant THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all you guys and gals!
